Krakowiak
The Krakowiak (pronounced kra-kov-ee-ahk) is a dynamic national
dance of the Polish people. Which, as its name indicates,
originated in the city of Krakow. Its sweeping movements and gestures
recall the Polish passion for the horse and rhythms of an advancing
cavalry. The performers are wearing the tradional costume from Krakow.
The original choreography is by Donna Kalinowska-Werter.

Oberek
An oberek is possibly the most spirited of national dances. Originally
a regional dance which varied in style of execution depending upon
the region in which it was done, the national form of oberek is
precise, swift and physically demanding. The performers are seen
here, wearing costumes from the region of Lowicz. Original choreography
by Donna Kalinowska-Werter.

Polonez
Without question the single-most notable Polish national dance is
the Polonez. Regal in stature and execution. It was taken from the
peasant dance chodzony, which means to walk. The Polish
nobility embellished enriched it, and in fact shared it with their
friends in France. It is here where we obtained the spelling Polonaise.
The performers seen here are wearing the Kontusz/Gentry costume.
Original choreography by Donna Kalinowska-Werter.
